Mountain Hurricane
115 mph wind yields to no one.
Aloha LOVE Tribe ~
Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans for you.
100,000 folks without power, water and internet connection.
Cancelled school.
Cancelled work.
Cancelled holiday parties.
Cancelled appointments.
Sit inside.
Watch it blow.
Lessons and Blessings:
Give thanks for a roof over my head.
Give thanks for a safe, functioning fireplace.
Give thanks my kids are safe.
Give thanks for food and water in the pantry.
Give thanks for power company, 1st responders and electricians.
Give thanks for spotty cell service in the mountains.
Give thanks for no wildfires.
Give thanks for my fuzzy pooch.
Give thanks for my laptop with some charge left.
Maybe…
Maybe Mother Nature wants us all to reset and reconnect with her
Maybe Mother Nature wants us to be in awe of her tremendous power and force
Maybe Mother Nature wants to remind us of how temporary things are
Maybe Mother Nature wants to remind us that you don’t know what you got til it’s gone
Whatever the case, wow - Mother Nature ROCKS.
As I sit here next to the warm fire watching the snow drift gently down, I give deep thanks to God for protecting me and my loved ones and for having a home.
This 4th day without power and internet make me SO grateful that this is temporary.
I realize this is a grueling way of everyday life for:
730,000,000 souls without electricity
2,100,000,000 souls without clean water
2,800,000,000 souls without internet
You would think with all the resources and talent across the world that these numbers would be far less.
I believe we can do better for our fellow humans. Way better.
Wishing ease and grace to everyone on Earth who struggles with these basic needs.
My lessons are to:
make sure to have plenty of water for drinking and flushing toilets
pack the fridge and freezer with ice/ice packs if storms are predicted
make sure car has always ½ or more tank of gas
batteries for candles and flashlight (I was burning candles and it was too stinky)
dry foods in pantry- nuts, dried fruit, jerky,
COFFEE - instant coffee and creamer
extra oil for generator
practice even deeper gratitude daily when the light switch works, the hot water flows, and the internet streams my dreams and ideas with speed and ease.
The power came on late last night - YAY!
Back to blessed business and happy holidays.
May all beings be safe, happy, healthy and in peace.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! 🎄
